Career Tracks is an employment assistance centre that is committed to supporting youth and providing opportunities to access a wide range of educational, career, and job prospects. The Centre strives to promote self-empowerment and self-awareness enabling youth to set, reach, and maintain their goals.

Career Tracks is fortunate to have four experienced employment counsellors; available to offer advice and insight and to provide referrals to various community organizations and institutions. Our two employment support workers are always available to offer guidance and to identify each client's needs and interests to further develop a plan of action.

HISTORY:

Career Tracks originally opened to the Chilliwack community in November of 1996. Since that time, Career Tracks has evolved tremendously but still holds on strong to the original vision of the centre; dedicated to helping youth achieve their goals. Career Tracks initiative is funded by Employment & Labour Market Services, a division of the B.C. Ministry of Housing and Social Development and administered by School District #33.

Career Tracks serves many functions but primarily focuses on providing a friendly, safe, and supportive environment to assist youth between the ages of 15-30 in obtaining and maintaining employment in the industry of their choice. Each client, upon first meeting, undergoes a needs assessment where further steps are then taken to assist the client in reaching> their goals; whether it be retraining, personal development, or simply to secure employment. After meeting with one of our experienced Employment Counsellors each client receives an action plan that is developed especially for them.

Each client is recognized for their own unique individuality and encouraged to explore and research the endless possibilities that can be achieved through motivation, perseverance, and dedication. We promote a respectful environment; absolutely essential for our clients to be successful. It is our passion and our focus to continue to assist youth in becoming the best they can be.
